Two girls drown in village pond

Two teenage girls today drowned in a pond in a village in Uttar Pradesh's Jaunpur district, police said.

Nisha, aged 17, and Leela (16) drowned in the pond in Maideeh village in Madhiyahun area, Additional Superintendent of Police Sureshwar said.

Their bodies had been fished out by the locals, he said.
