Two killed after struck by lightning

Two fishermen were killed after being struck by lightning while fishing in the sea about four nautical miles from Manalmekuddi Village in this district today.

Police said Sundaram and Karuppiah were fishing along with two others in the sea when the lightning struck them.

While Sundaram died on the spot, Karuppiah suffered injury and died without responding to treatment at an hospital, police said.
