Two lakh households to benefit from Johar : Das

A total two lakh households of 67 blocks in 17 Jharkhand districts will benefit from 'Johar' (Jharkhand Opportunity Harnessing Rural Growth) project, Chief Minister Raghubar Das said today.

Reviewing the project here today, Das asked officials to select more blocks affected by extremism and said it would would raise the standard of life of BPL families, an official release said.

He sought emphasis on improved agriculture, animal husbandry and pisciculture and suggested setting up of need-based projects like lac and other materials.

The chief minister directed to step up ban on usage of polythene and thermocol so that the environment would not be polluted and the demand for materials made by Sal tress leaves would increase.
 

As a result people would get jobs through making of eco-friendly materials and cottage and micro industries could be set up, he added.
