Two persons drown in Mayurbhanj district

A minor tribal girl and a man of the same community Tuesday drowned while taking bath at village ponds in separate incidents in Odisha's Mayurbhanj district, police said.

Karanjia police station Inspector-in-charge (IIC) Laxmidhar Swain said the deceased minor girl was identified as Buthu Tudu (8), a student of Class I and daughter of Anpa Tudu of Bada Ramachandrapur village.

The deceased man was identified as Srikanth Dehuri (25). He drowned while taking bath in the pond at Nuagoan Sialinai village, police said.
