Two persons, including police officer incharge, shot dead

A police officer-incharge was among two persons who were shot dead by a former Mukhiya over a property dispute at Juravanpur police station in Bihar's Vaishali district, a police officer said today.

Juravanpur police station officer incharge, Anil Kumar and Sudhir Kumar, son of a policeman, were shot at by former Mukhiya of Juravanpur Barari Panchayat Sri Kant Rai following a heated exchange over a property dispute last night, Superintendent of police (SP) Suresh Prasad Chaudhury said.

The injured persons died on their way to Patna Medical College and Hospital in the state capital, he said.

The bodies were brought to the police line this morning and a guard of honour was given to departed police officer, SP said, adding arrangements were being made to transport the body of Anil Kumar to his native village in Madhubani district.
