Two state-owned buses have been gutted in fire in TNSTC depot cum workshop in the city, police said today.
A bus, which returned after a technical fault to the workshop in Ukkadam around 8 PM, was found in flames, the spark of which spread to nearby bus, resulting in charring of both the buses, police said.
Fire and rescue personnel arrived at the scene and managed to put off the fire and prevented it from spreading to other buses in the workshop.
Meanwhile, State transport minister, Thangamani and Municipal administration minister, S P Velumani, visited the workshop around and inquired about the incident with the bus screw, they said.
