Undertrial prisoner dies in hospital

The prisoner, identified as Doman Pal (50) died during treatment in a government hospital after sustaining multiple injuring after falling in the toilet of his cell in the district jail yesterday, the sources said.

Pal, a native of Sahia village under Mufassil police station area, was arrested on October 15 during raid at the illicit liquor factory, they said.

Meanwhile, the local people blocked road to protest against the death of the prisoner and demanded compensation to his family, the sources said adding that police and civil officials rushed to the spot and pacified the agitators.
