An undertrial woman

prisoner of Gumla jail died after allegedly hanging herself in Gumla Sadar Hospital premises, the police said today.

About 50-year-old victim Jagni Mundain was found hanging using her saree in the toilet of the hospital last night, the police said.

She was admitted to the hospital where doctors referred her to Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences, Ranchi yesterday.

She could not be sent to Ranchi as the jail authorities were making security arrangements and planned to send her today.

She was lodged in Gumla jail in connection with a murder committed in Chainpur in 2012.
