A charred body of a man was found lying at a village on the Ooty-Gudalur Road, about 30 kms from here today, police said.
A boy grazing goats noticed the body at T R Bazaar and informed police, who rushed to the spot and recovered it.
The body bore multiple stab injuries on face and abdomen indicating that he was first murdered and then burnt to cover the identity, they said.
