Unidentified men abduct Mahamandleshwar in Meerut

The Mahamandleshwar (Head) of a temple in Surajkund was kidnapped allegedly by three persons, police said today.

52-year-old Rajendra Swaroop, the Mahamandelshwar of Baba Manoharnath Temple, was abducted while he was taking a walk near his house last night in Phool Bagh colony here, SHO Harsharan Sharma said.

The kidnappers abducted Swaroop and fled away in a car, the SHO said, adding, an FIR has been registered against three persons, including one Natwar, following a complaint by Swaroop's son Shivam.

A hunt is on for the kidnappers and to rescue Swaroop, he said.
