UP CM gives Rs 20 lakh to kin of jawan martyred in Manipur

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today gave Rs 20 lakh to the kin of jawan Ram Prasad Yadav, who was killed in an ambush in Manipur last month.

Faizabad DM Anil Dhingra and SDM Amit Singh today called the jawan's family including his wife, children and parents to the Chief Minister's Office in Lucknow.

The state government as well as the Samajwadi Party has taken full responsibility of the family. We will not leave them alone, SP district president Jai Shankar Pandey told PTI.

Ram Prasad Yadav, a resident of Saadatganj Salaarpur area, was from 6 Dogra regiment platoon.
 

At least 18 jawans of the regiment were killed in the ambush in Chandel district of Manipur last month. The responsibility of the attack was later taken by a Naga militant group.
