Supported by uptick in domestic demand and restricted supplies from growing regions, refined soya oil prices rose by 0.57 per cent to Rs 723.50 per 10 kg in futures trade today as traders built up fresh positions.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in January was trading higher by Rs 4.10, or 0.57 per cent to Rs 723.50 per 10 kg with an open interest of 57,400 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in December traded higher by Rs 2.95, or 0.41 per cent to Rs 728.50 per 10 kg in 8,800 lots.

Analysts said, fresh positions created by participants following pick-up in demand in the spot market against tight stocks position on fall in supplies from producing belts, mainly led to the rise in refined soya oil prices at futures trade.
