Amid pick up in domestic demand against restricted supplies from producing belts, mentha oil prices were up 0.12 per cent to Rs 1,014.50 per kg in futures trading today as participants created fresh positions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in April month went up by Rs 1.20, or 0.12 per cent to Rs 1,014.50 per kg in business turnover of 30 lots.

Likewise, the oil for delivery in March contracts edged higher by 60 paise, or 0.06 per cent, to Rs 1,004.50 per kg in 121 lots.

Traders attributed the rise in mentha oil prices to fresh positions built up by traders due to pick up in demand from consuming industries in the spot markets against restricted supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh.
