Amid pick up in demand at domestic spot market and restricted supplies from producing regions, mentha oil prices were up by 0.60 per cent to Rs 929.10 per kg in futures trading today as participants created fresh positions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in August went up by Rs 5.50, or 0.60 per cent to Rs 929.10 per kg in business turnover of 38 lots.

Likewise, the oil for delivery in July contracts was trading higher by Rs 3.10, or 0.34 per cent to Rs 915.80 per kg in 233 lots.

Market analysts said widening of positions by traders following pick up in demand from consuming industries in the spot market against restricted supplies from Chandausi, led to the rise in mentha oil prices in futures trade.
