Vigilance sleuths arrest clerk for taking bribe

The Jharkhand Vigilance department personnel today arrested a clerk of the agricultural department red-handed on charge of accepting bribe from a farmer at Satbarwa block of Palamau district, an official said.

A team of the state vigilance department from Ranchi caught the clerk, Kumar Gaurav while he was allegedly accepting Rs.10,000/- from the complainant Inder Kumar Singh, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Vigilance), Naval Kishore Sharma said.

On receiving a complaint from Singh, the sleuths laid a trap and arrested Gaurav immediately after he accepted chemical applied currency notes, he said.

Singh had lodged a complaint with the vigilance department after Gaurav repeatedly demanded bribe to release fund under an agricultural scheme of the government.
