WCD ministry discusses empowerment, development of women

Various schemes for women and children being implemented by the Ministry were discussed threadbare, an official release said.

It said the exercise aimed at understanding the need for creating better and sturdy mechanisms for effective implementation of the schemes.

States were urged to upload data of children living in various juvenile homes and the information relating to missing children from different Police Stations on the 'Track Child' portal which the ministry is preparing to launch.

During the deliberations, WCD Minister Krishna Tirath stressed upon the need for empowerment of women and development of children through effective implementation of various programmes and interventions, the release said.
