Weird Al Yankovic needs break from Twitter

Grammy-award winner Weird Al Yankovic feels he needs to take a break from Twitter as he is addicted to the micro-blogging site.

The 54-year-old 'White and Nerdy' hitmaker says he loves having millions of people hanging on his every word but now he feels he should take a vacation from social media, reported Contactmusic.

"I'm a bit obsessed with Twitter and Facebook and Instagram right now. I think I need to take a vacation from it for a while. But I do love it.

"It's an amazing feeling to think of something stupid to say and hit a button and then three million people are reading it," he said.
 

The singer thinks Twitter has had a positive impact on his career as it has brought his fans closer to him.

"(Twitter) allows me to interact with my fans and get feedback on anything I happen to be doing at the time. And it's brought me a lot closer to my peers in the comedy industry.

"I've been enjoying social media for the last few years and it certainly helped me in a major way with the release of this album," he said.
