Will take all steps with pol parties to isolate govt: CPI-M

"In the next session of Parliament, we will talk to other political parties to find effective ways to put the government on the dock," CPI(M) General Secretary Prakash Karat told reporters after a three-day Central Committee meeting here.
Asked whether the party would support a no-confidence motion if brought by Trinamool Congress, he said, "We don't know what TMC will do or will not do. But we will find what's the effective way to corner the government.
"We will work out appropriate tactics by which we can isolate the government. ...If they don't reverse these measures (FDI in multi-brand retail, price hike of diesel, LPG and limiting supply of LPG cylinders), then they have no right to continue in office," Karat said in reply to questions.
Asked whether it would join hands with the BJP in its bid to isolate the Congress-led government, he said "will adopt all tactics to do that... There are various ideas and proposals. Some parties have already talked to us. We'll work out the right method. We are not ruling out anything."
"The UPA government has undertaken a series of measures which are meant to appease foreign finance capital and big business on one hand and to squeeze the people and burden them with steps to increase price rise and cut subsidies on the other," he said. (More)
