A woman advocate has moved the Madras High Court after she was allegedly prevented from using a particular toilet in the court complex on the ground that it was exclusively meant for use of members of the Madras Bar Association.
In her PIL, advocate M Loganayaki said she was prevented from using the toilet near Court Hall No.6 by the women employed to maintain it on the ground that only members of the Madras Bar Association could use it.
She submitted the toilet was the property of the high court and irrespective of membership of a particular association, all women advocates should be allowed to use it.
