Woman axed to death by her husband in J-K's Udhampur

A woman was axed to death allegedly by her husband after the couple had an argument over some issue in Jammu and Kashmir Udhampur district, Police said Tuesday.
As per initial reports, one Yash Paul of Jasyal Challa of Kathua district, along with his wife Ritu Devi, was staying at the house of his sister-in-law at Neeli village of Udhampur district since Sunday, they said.
Paul had a verbal duel with his wife over some issue and in a fit of rage hit her with an axe Monday night, police said.
After killing his wife, Paul fled the spot, but was later arrested by a police party of Police Station Majalta from the nearby area, they said.
The axe has been recovered and a case registered, they said. The motive behind the killing is yet to be ascertained, police added.
