Unable to bear the daily torture of her alcoholic husband, a 45-year old woman allegedly killed him by setting him ablaze before immolating herself at Vadakarai in neighbouring Sivaganga district, Police said today.
Panchavarnam, running a petty shop along with her husband, was enraged late last night as her husband quarrelled with her in an inebriated mood when she was very tired and asleep.
When he was fast asleep, she doused him with kerosene and set him ablaze. Later she allegedly committed self-immolation, police said adding the bodies were removed this morning.
