Woman constable commits suicide

A woman railway police constable allegedly committed suicide by shooting herself here today, police said.

Vaishali Pingat (29), attached to the Thane railway police station, picked up a pistol at the station premises and shot herself around 8.30 AM, they said.

A suicide note was found on her, police said without divulging its details.

Senior police officials rushed to the spot and an investigation was on in the matter, they said.
