A 35-year-old woman was allegedly gang-raped by robbers when she and her family tried to resist their robbery attempt at Jarcha area here.
Four armed persons barged inside a house in Jashmedpur village last night, SP (Rural) Brijesh Kumar Singh said today.
The family was held captive at gunpoint and when they resisted the robbery bid, the armed youths raped a woman member of the family, according to the complaint.
The robbers, thereafter, fled with jewellery and cash worth lakhs, Singh said.
A case has been registered at Jarcha police station, he said adding efforts are being made to arrest the accused at the earliest.
