A 21-year-old woman today allegedly committed suicide here by hanging herself, following which her live-in partner was arrested on the charge of abetment to suicide, the police said.
The police were informed by one Neeraj that his partner Deepti was not opening the door of their house in southeast Delhi's Kalkaji.
After rushing to the house, the police found Deepti hanging. A suicide note was found in which she had accused Neeraj of picking up frequent quarrels with her, the police said.
During the investigation, it was also found that Neeraj suspected her of cheating on him. He was arrested on the basis of the suicide note, the police said.
He works as a driver and was out of Delhi when the incident happened, they added.
Deepti had informed her landlord that Neeraj was her husband. However, the police found that Neeraj was married to someone else.
He is also accused in a case of robbery in Badaun, the police said.
