A 22-year old woman teacher suffered serious burns when an unidentified person threw acid on her at nearby Kuttichal today, police said.
She had been admitted to the government medical college hospital here.
The woman was returning home from work late this evening when the motorcycle-borne person attacked her and fled the scene, police, quoting eyewitness accounts, said.
Investigations were on to find out the culprit and the motive for the acid attack, they added.
