Woman kills self over dowry

A woman allegedly hanged herself from the ceiling of her house in Shamli district in a suspected dowry case, the police said today.

The incident took place last evening, they said.

According to the deceased's parents, her in-laws and husband used to torture her for dowry.

The case is being investigated, the police added.
