Woman Maoist surrenders in Odisha

A woman Maoist carrying a cash reward of Rs one lakh on her head has surrendered in Odisha's Koraput district.
Superintendent of Police, Awinash Kumar said that the Maoist Mandangi alias Jirmai of Tolo Dekapadu village had been in touch with police for the past few days and had expressed her willingness to surrender.
Mandangi was escorted by the BSF from her village to Narayanpatna on Monday and subsequently to Koraput yesterday, where she surrendered.
She told the police that Maoists were killing tribal people and extorting money from traders which made her decide to quit.
