Woman Naxal surrenders in Bijapur district of C'garh

A woman Naxal today surrendered in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district.

Sarita Pulse (18) surrendered in the presence of Superintendent of Police L Dhruv.

A resident of area under Madded police station limits, she was abducted by Naxals in 2009 and was a part of group headed by 'commander' Vinod Karam which was active in Bhopalpatnam, Awapalli, Modakpal areas, police said.

She decided to quit the movement because of exploitation of women cadres by Naxal leaders hailing from Andhra Pradesh, according to the police.

She has been given a financial aid of Rs 10,000.
