Woman YSRC MLA seriously hurt in road accident

A woman MLA candidate of YSR Congress was seriously injured while three others including her two gunman were also wounded after the four-wheeler in which they were travelling turned turtle in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh, police said today.

The incident occurred at around 11.30 pm last night when B Shobha Nagi Reddy, contesting from Allagadda assembly constituency, was returning after an election campaign in Kurnool, they said.

Shobha, who sustained serious bleeding injuries in the incident was rushed to a private hospital at Banjara Hills here while the two gunman and the vehicle driver who also suffered injuries were undergoing treatment at a hospital in Kurnool and their condition was out of danger, a police officer said.
 

"It seems the vehicle driver lost control while trying to take a turn as paddy was put on the road," the police officer said.

A medical bulletin issued by Care Hospital said "Shobha Nagi Reddy, had major road accident and was brought to Care Hospital on April 24. She is presently in critical condition. She is under intensive monitoring.
