Rich tributes were paid to Y S Parmar, the first chief minister of Himachal Pradesh on his 107 birth anniversary today.
Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh offered floral tributes to Parmar, popularly known as as "Architect of Himachal", at his statue at The Ridge.
Later, Singh also recalled Parmar's contribution towards the development of the state during a function organised at Vidhan Sabha.

Describing Parmar as a "visionary, farsighted and dynamic" leader, Singh said that he dedicated his entire life for making Himachal Pradesh, a progressive and developed state.
"Parmar was a multi-faceted personality, who relentlessly struggled for the rights of the people and getting statehood for Himachal and the people of the state were indebted to him for the services rendered by him," the chief minister said.
Vidya Stokes, Kaul Singh Thakur, Dhani Ram Shandil and Anil Sharma and Rohit Thakur were some of the cabinet ministers who were present on the occasion. Besides this, MLAs, ministers and other dignitaries offered tributes to the former chief minister.
