The Young Mizo Association (YMA) today started collecting donation to help the flood victims in Myanmar and Manipur.
The YMA requested all its branches across the state and also neighbouring states to collect donation and appealed to the Mizo people to contribute generously for the Mizos living in the areas ravaged by recent flood, Vanlalruata, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the YMA said.
"We appealed to the people to donate in the form of cash," he said, adding that 100 quintals of rice would be sent to Myanmar shortly.

Donation would be collected during August and handed over to the flood victims by early September, he said.
Meanwhile, the Presbyterian Church's Mizoram Synod also appealed to the local churches to collect donation for the flood victims in Myanmar.
