Youth arrested for molesting teenager

A youth was arrested for allegedly intruding into a house and molesting a 15-year-old girl in Nainsukhpura village in the district, police said today.

According to the complaint filed by the girl's mother, Umesh and another youth entered their house on the intervening night of July 8 and 9 when they were sleeping and molested the girl, police said.

The duo also tried to abduct her but when her mother switched on the light, they fled from the scene, police said, adding that Umesh was arrested but the other youth is absconding.

The accused were booked on charges of criminal trespass, molestation and criminal intimidation, they said.
