Youth booked for kidnapping two college girls

A 19-year-old student allegedly abducted two college girls in a rickshaw and also snatched away a mobile phone belonging to one of them, police said today.

Kasarwadavali Police said the youth-- Vipul Pawar-- has been booked under sections 392 (robbery) and 363 (kidnapping).

A resident of Chembur, Vipul studies in a college in Mumbai.

According to the complaint by the victim, a 17 year old college girl from Thane city, she got acquainted with the boy through her relatives living in Chembur a couple of years back.

"Since then, the boy had been making advances towards her. Yesterday afternoon, the accused pulled the victim and snatched the mobile from her hand. Later, he forcibly took her and her friend in an autorickshaw from Ghodbunder road to civil hospital," police said.
 

"When the rickshaw reached the civil hospital, the accused escaped from the scene," police said.

Police have launched a search to nab him.
