A youth was injured in a celebratory firing during a marriage ceremony near here, police said today.
Victim, identified as Baljit, was a resident of Jalalpura village and worked as a bread maker, they said.
It was the fourth such incident in the district. Among them, one of the cases resulted in tragic consequences of a girl.
The incident occurred last night at Bhupendra Nagar when when one of the revellers dancing at the venue fired a shot from his pistol that hit Baljit, police said.
Soon after the incident, Baljit was rushed to nearby hospital, where his condition was stated to be critical and doctors referred him to PGIMS, Rohtak. However, Baljit was admitted to a private hospital, police said.
