Zinc down by 0.4% on global trend

Subdued demand in domestic spot markets also affected prices

Zinc down by 0.4% on global trend

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Zinc futures declined 0.40% to Rs 124.55 per kg today as participants trimmed positions on weak cues from the global markets amid subdued demand in domestic spot markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in April was trading lower by 50 paise, or 0.40%, to Rs 124.55 per kg, with a business turnover of 566 lots.

The metal for delivery in May fell by a similar margin to trade at Rs 125.10 per kg in a turnover of 66 lots.

Marketmen said the fall in zinc prices at futures trade was mostly in line with a weak trend in the entire base metals pack at the London Metal Exchange and muted demand at the doemstic spot markets.
