Zinc futures gain 0.56% on overseas cues, spot demand

The metal for delivery in March also rose by 65 paise, or 0.52 per cent, to Rs 125.20 per kg

Zinc futures edged up by 0.56 per cent to Rs 126.10 per kg today as speculators created fresh positions amid positive cues from global markets and better domestic demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in April was up by 70 paise, or 0.56 per cent, to Rs 126.10 per kg, with a business turnover of 36 lots.

The metal for delivery in March also rose by 65 paise, or 0.52 per cent, to Rs 125.20 per kg, with a business turnover of 398 lots.

Marketmen said besides a firming trend at domestic spot market, the metal's strength at the London Metal Exchange, influenced zinc futures here.
