Zinc falls by 0.4% in line with global trend

Speculators trimmed positions, tracking a weak global trend

Zinc falls by 0.4% in line with global trend

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Zinc futures traded 0.37% lower at Rs 119.90 per kg today after speculators trimmed positions, tracking a weak global trend.

In futures trading at Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery this month declined 45 paise, or 0.37%, to Rs 119.90 per kg. It clocked a business turnover of 680 lots.

On similar lines, the metal for delivery in October softened by 40 paise, or 0.33%, to Rs 120.70 per kg in 11 lots.

Market analysts said weakness in zinc futures trade was mostly due to a falling trend in base metals pack and subdued demand at domestic spot markets.
