WPP chairman defends company's handling of allegation against Sorrell

LONDON (Reuters) - The chairman of the world's biggest advertising agency WPP, facing investor anger over the departure of former CEO Martin Sorrell, defended the company's handling of the process and said he could not say anything more on the matter. The chairman, Roberto Quarta, said at the beginning of the group's annual meeting that the process the board followed in response to the allegation of personal misconduct against Sorrell was robust from a governance and legal perspective.
