Bear Hammering Pulls Down Pivotals On Bse

The BSE Sensitive Index (Sensex) opened slightly lower at 3143.89, nearly five points lower than its overnight close of 3148.57. It later moved down to 3080.28, the days low, before closing at 3092.72, netting a fall of 55.85 points.
The broadbased NSE-50 Index declined by 16.55 points. It had opened at a high of 906.56, before reaching a low of 886.68 and closed at 890.13. The previous close was 906.68. Brokers said there does not seem to be much of long-term investment buying by small investors.
Reliance Industries, SBI, ITC, Bajaj Auto, Larsen & Toubro, HPCL, ACC, Tisco and HLL recorded sharp falls.
