Black Is Better

The honest and the law abiding have no place to live in the vicious atmosphere of today's murky politics. The powers that be have a soft corner, are more concerned and sympathetic towards militants and those who have amassed ill-gotten wealth. One may indulge in loot, mayhem and plunder and join the mainstream by honourable surrender. One may amass wealth by clandestine means and have an aura of respectability for there is VDS intermittently to provide amnesty to the black Johnnies from all legal action, penalty, interest etc. And now squandering another Rs 50 crore to publicise the VDS ( BS, April 26) so that more and more people from the mainstream indulge in dubious means with impunity and claim amnesty. Alas! there is no such package for the honest and law-abiding citizen.
