Elaborating on the company's ``Corporate Plan'', Shahi indicated that it was mapped out for the next 15 years.
In the first five years, BSES will concentrate on core competency like power generation and T&D, the next five years will be a period of strategies where the company will diversify into mining, meter manufacturing and allied activities.
By the end of the 15-year plan, Shahi's vision is to make BSES a power generating company with a capacity of over 6,000 mw and over six distribution networks throughout the country.
Answering a shareholders query that BSES has proposed power plant near its existing unit at Dahanu, the chairman said the company has received consent from the Maharashtra State Electricity Board (MSEB) to set up 500 mw of power plant at Palghar, Maharashtra.
It would be easier to get environmental clearance for the Palghar project than the proposed expansion of the Dahanu unit,'' Shahi added. Dahanu is notified as an environmentally sensitive area.
On the new Sebi's takeover code, Shahi added that it was too early to comment on the issue.
