A local BSP MLA here was booked for violating the model code of conduct in this poll-bound state, officials said today.
A case was registered against Mohammad Jaleel Khan, MLA from Gonda Sadar constituency, for flouting prohibitory orders by carrying out a procession yesterday without taking permission from concerned authorities, district returning officer Ram Bahadur said, adding that four others have also been named in the case.
Sitting MLA Khan was denied ticket by the party for this year's election.
