Corruption

I have gone through a newspaper report which ranks India in the fifth place, as far as corruption is concerned. The report further points out that 82 persons out of 100 persons are corrupt in the country. Is it a matter of plight or delight? Plight because 82 out of 100 Indians are corrupt and delight that we are not at the top so far in corruption.

Whatever one may feel but I feel ashamed about what the world think about us. We read almost daily about corruption in high places. No one seems to care for this.

The public which has anything to do with government or semi-government department knows it very well that nothing moves in government department without paying some money. If one does not pay, one will have to spend ten times more time than one who pays the bribes, to peons, clerks, officers and even ministers. Numourous cases in which ministers are involved appear in paper regularly. And CBI has taken some of them.

 

Let us look at New Zealand. Only one out of 100 persons is involved in corruption charges.
