Database On It Pros To Help Us Screen Jobseekers

The Hyderabad Software Technology Park will build a database on infotech specialists and give the US consulate-general at Chennai access to this data through a high-speed confidential link.

The Consulate will use the data to cross-check the background of IT professionals seeking H1 visas for taking up jobs in America.

The offer to build up such a data-base and allow the Consulate access was made by STP Director J A Choudhury.

Consulate officials Jeffrey J Hawkins and Clyde L Jones are interacting with the software industry to check immigration of IT experts to the US through fraudulent documents.

The Consulate is concerned at the increasing number of such fraudulent applicants for H1 Visa from Hyderabad, since 40 per cent of such applicants emanate from there.
