Finnair Rearranges Financing Of Aircraft

Finnish national carrier Finnair said last week it had rearranged financing of five aircraft, buying three and selling two MD-80 planes. Finnair said in a statement it had sold on April 2 after the March 31 end of its financial year two airplanes to specialist finance firm Indigo Aviation for 196 million markka. It would lease back the sold aircraft for 24.5 million markka a year. In a separate statement, it said it had bought three previously leased MD-80s for about 256 million markka. That deal happened at the end of March, Finnair said. The sellers were leasing companies Merita Finance, NBB Helsinki Lease, and NBB Suomi Lease, it said.
