Grains Export Quota Raised By 50,000 Tonnes

It had already allowed exports of 50,000 tonnes earlier in the year.
The coarse grains include jowar, bajra and maize.
The second quota will, however, be restricted to public sector units and will take the total exports of coarse grains to 100,000 tonnes for the year as a whole.
The director general of foreign trade has issued the relevant notifications.
No changes have been made to the wheat, pulses and sugar export allotments for the year.
Sources said wheat exports this year will be far lower than that last year.
The ceiling on pulses is unlikely to be raised.
Earlier, it had been decided that an export ceiling of 1,50,000 MT would be slapped on the export of wheat products for the remaining part of the licensing year
