Shaw Wallace & Company Ltd announced a 129 per cent growth in its net profit to Rs 23.82 crore for the year ended June 30, 1999 over Rs 10.38 crore in the previous fiscal 1997-98. The pre-tax profit jumped by 135 per cent to Rs 26.93 crore from Rs 11.43 crore recorded in the previous year. The company's interest burden has also come down from Rs 65.63 crore last year to Rs 57.99 crore.
