Microsoft Unveils Windows Dna

BSCAL

Microsoft Corporation, has come out with Windows DNA, the first application architecture to integrate Internet, client/ server and PC models of computing for a new class of distributed computing solutions.

Announcing this in Hyderabad at the end of a day-long Microsoft Web application developers conference, Microsofts Tools Evangelist, Daniel Ingitiraj said DNA Architecture is a united approach for building distributed, scalable, multi-tier applications that can be delivered over any network.

Daniel, described as the blue-eyed boy of Microsoft, said developers were today looking for a platform that will enable them to focus on holding value-added information network applications rather than on building infrastructure.

Windows DNA provides a unified architecture and system services that integrate the worlds of client/server and web-based application development.

It fulfils the needs of the developer community by defining a framework for delivering solutions that meet the demand requirements for corporate computing, the Internet and Intranets and global electronic commerce, while reducing overall costs of development and deployment, he said.

Daniel Ingitiraj said Windows DNA will enable organisations to take advantage of new technologies such as the Web, while extending their investments in existing applications and data.

Since it takes full advantage of tightly integrated Windows platform services, organisations can focus on delivering business solutions rather than on being systems integrators.

Using the model, customers can build modern, scalable business applications that improve the flow of information, both within and outside an organisation, and are dynamic and flexible to change as business needs evolve and can be integrated easily with existing systems and data so these systems can be extended rather than replaced.
