On-Line Trading Starts At Mangalore Se

The 11-year old stock exchange has launched its screen based trading (SBT) system called Mangalore On-line Securities Trading System (MOST), the first of its kind in India. Based on the Windows NT and Microsoft SQL server platform, MOST is expected to connect all its 143 members before the end of this year.

MOST is also Internet ready and shall extend to integrate with depository systems of the future. It also provides on-line access to the National Stock Exchange and the Bombay Stock Exchange rates. The successful implementation of the MOST has already boosted the trade volume of the exchange by 25 times from a mere Rs five lakh daily till recently to Rs 1.33 crore on Friday, disclosed Jnanadev Kamath, director, MgSE.
