Priyanka Vadra today announced Mohammad Naeem as the Congress candidate from Gauriganj seat, besides changing a sitting party MLA on his request.
As octogenarian Ram Sewak Dhobi sought ticket for his grandson because of his ailing health, Priyanka said Radhey Shyam Kannaujia would be the party nominee from the Jagdishpur seat, Congress sources said.
Dhobi, an MLA for nine terms, had requested her to give a chance to Kannaujia as he himself had reached an advanced age.
The Congress' star campaigner has been holding closed door meetings with party workers assembly segment-wise.
Priyanka also declared Mohammad Naeem, who had lost to the BSP candidate in the last elections by about 5,000 votes, as the Congress candidate from Gauriganj.
